Aerial Yoga
Aerial yoga is a practice that combines traditional yoga postures with pilates exercises, using a yoga swing/sling/trapeze (with or without handles) to aid and support the pose.
It offers a safe and easy way to flip your world upside down! You will feel supported in back bends and inversions and will experience full relief on the spine. During an inversion, the spinal muscles release and relax as you hang, reducing pressure and joint compression.

Benefits of Aerial Yoga
-
Total Body workout - Due to the nature of aerial yoga movements, almost all body parts are forced to move and stretch. Muscles are toned and redefined, and joints are regenerated and strengthened.
-
Psychological Boost - Aerial yoga helps rebuild your emotional system because it clears the mind and relieves stress due to its meditative state. It also helps you combat stress throughout the day and increases your creativity, which can lead to development of your own artistic skills.
-
Improves Flexibility - By counteracting gravity, aerial yoga helps you move more freely, and with less effort. Suspension in the air releases tension on the bones and muscles, increasing flexibility and deepening your practice. Suspended yoga strengthens core muscles and increases spinal and shoulder flexibility.

-
Alleviates back issues - The chance to hang freely allows your spine to lengthen and alleviates back problems. With less strain on your back, tension in the spinal cord and hip joint is eased, helping you to feel better.
-
Increases Strength - Aerial yoga improves strength and flexibility, which carries over into other daily activities. The core workout is beneficial cross-training, for example, it helps runners increase stamina and aids faster recovery.
-
Enhances Your mood - Another key benefit of aerial yoga is that it gets your adrenaline going as you are defying gravity! It also releases “happy” hormones like serotonin, endorphins, oxytocin, and dopamine, which boost your mood and increase energy.
-
Improves Balance - Whilst resisting gravity can be exciting, aerial yoga also helps with balance and stability. These are two key components in daily activities and become increasingly important as we age.
-
Aids Digestion - The different types of stretches and movements help improve the digestive system, thus relieving various digestion-related issues, including constipation and indigestion.
-
Your twilight years - Aerial yoga improves blood circulation and detoxifies the circulatory and lymphatic systems, helping to combat symptoms of various cardiovascular and other issues that can appear as we age. It also fortifies your neural connections, therefore rendering better memory power!
